"See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey" is the sixth episode of The Powerpuff Girls season five, and the ninety-seventh episode overall. It was originally planned to be aired in either 2003 or 2004, but was banned by Cartoon Network for religious comparisons to a hippie resembling Jesus near crossed metal beams.[1] It aired all over the world, however, and the episode was eventually seen in the United States on DVD on January 20, 2009. It was written by Chris Savino and Dave Smith, directed by Savino and John McIntyre, and voice directed by Collette Sunderman.

In a rock opera special, the girls give up their powers to a magical gnome in exchange for getting rid of all the evil in Townsville. But the girls learn that you can't have good without bad.

Release

Dates are in order of release:

Behind the scenes

  • The episode title is a play on The Who's 1969 song "See Me, Feel Me," featured in the finale of their rock opera, Tommy.
  • Mojo opens up the episode instead of the Narrator.
  • The end theme music is replaced by the droning of the end of the final song.

Errors

  • At the end of the first song, the non-villanious Talking Dog is singing along with the other villains.
  • At the end of the episode, all the villains, EVEN HIM, are singing why can't they all get along.
  • Jeff Glen Bennett is credited for voicing Grubber even though he isn't heard.
  • The animation director isn't credited.
  • There is a "Background Painters" credit, despite there only being one.
  • There are two dialogue editors, but the credit is singular.
  • James L. Venable, Thomas Chase, Steve Rucker, and Bis are all credited still even though their music isn't in the episode.
