Detailed summary

Memorable quotes

Rude Dexter: Where the **** are we?
Rude Dee Dee: Beats the **** outta me!
Dexter: Why, you're in Dexter's laboratory, silly! I'm Dexter. And this golden-haired angel behind me is my charming sister, Dee Dee.
Dee Dee: Charmed!
Rude Dexter: Ah, **** off!

Mom: Stop this THIS INSTANT! I've had just about enough of you two! Now clean up this mess, and go to your rooms FOREVER!
Rude Dexter: Look lady, that's cute and all, but let me tell ya somethin'. I make my own ******* rules. So why don't you do what all good mothers are supposed to do and clean it up yaself? So long, toots!

Mom: Now to clean those filthy mouths…
Dexter: Oooooh, ****!

Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: February 21, 1998 at the World Animation Celebration; January 22, 2013 at Adult Swim's website and YouTube channel

Behind the scenes

  • The title card shows Dee Dee using her index finger which is made to look like she is using her middle finger.
  • At the beginning, Dee Dee asks Dexter if he's going to make another remote control that turns people into animals, which is a reference to the pilot episode "Changes."
  • While being seperated from their rude counterparts, both Dexter and Dee Dee speak in a British accent, instead of an unspecified European and American accent, respectively. By contrast, the rude versions of Dexter and Dee Dee speak in a gruff Brooklyn dialect.
  • Dexter's dessert ban is reused from the episode "Hunger Strikes." Unlike this episode, Dexter was banned from eating dessert because he didn't eat his vegetables.

Errors

  • Dee Dee's name in the blueprint for the Rude Removal Machine is misspelled as "Dede".
  • When Dexter's hair explodes, it is black and spiky, but in the next scene it is normal.
  • When Rude Dexter grabs a cream pie from the fridge, the cherry on the top is red. But when Dexter's Mom yells at him for having dessert, the cherry is purple.
  • Mom makes a grammatical error when she says "Stop this this instant!", when the phrase should have been "Stop that this instant!"
