Behind the scenes

  • The episode is set in April, according to what Blossom says, which is also the month the episode aired.
  • Bubbles says about the chili that it is "rumbly in her tumbly" which is what the Disney character Winnie-the-Pooh says when he is hungry, instead of being gassy like Bubbles.
  • There is a room full of dogs playing poker based on the painting Dogs Playing Poker, in the house of animator Don Shank.
  • There is a corner of the street that says "Buscarino and Broadway," a reference to production coordinator Jackie Buscarino.
  • Despite not having noses, the Powerpuff Girls still have nostrils as evident when they use nose plugs.
  • Blossom breaks the fourth wall when she says she got the giant match at the same place she got the giant jar in "Episode 2, Season 1," which was "Insect Inside."
