Memorable quotes

Narrator: The city of Townsville is on fire!

Narrator: The fire is out, and Townsville is saved, thanks to... The... uh, no. Thanks to... No... Wait. Maybe over here? No. Wait a-- Wait a second. Who did save Townsville?

Narrator: Wow! Now, that's a hero! Sorry, girls. Looks like Townsville's got a new protector. Major Man!

Narrator: Oh, no, the city of Townsville is under attack.
Parent: Nothing to worry about. Major Man will save us all.

Narrator: Oh! Won't somebody please help this hero in distress?!
Man: Look up in the sky!
Woman: It's some bugs.
British man: No. Flying lollipops.
Talking Dog: No. It's the Supersock Em Girls!
Narrator: No. That's not right. It's the Powderpuff--I mean, the Powerpuff Girls!
Crowd: Who?
Narrator: You know, the Powerpuff Girls.
Crowd: Oh, yeah. Hooray!

Narrator: Oh, Powerpuff Girls, I knew he was a big fake all the time. Major Man. Why, I bet you he wasn't even a real major. Hmmm. Ahem. So once again, the day is saved, thanks to the Powerpuff Girls.

Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: January 6, 1999 on Cartoon Network

Behind the scenes

  • The George Jetson lookalike (from The Jetsons) actually talks, and disappointedly, doesn't sound like George Jetson. Tom Kane isn't explicitly credited as the voice, either.
  • Yes, that's right, Major Man is a Superman parody. One man cries, "Look, up in the sky," which is a reference to the line spoken in the introduction to the 1950s TV series The Adventures of Superman.
  • Talking Dog is credited as "Dog."

Errors

  • When the girls cotton onto Major Man's act when he slips up on TV, Blossom says, "Did you hear that," and Buttercup says, "Yeah," but both lines come out of Blossom's mouth.
