Jonny Quest is a young boy and the titular character of Jonny Quest animated franchise. His voice was originated by Tim Matheson, then credited as Tim Matthieson.

He is an adventurer at heart and gets into escapades when he travels with his scientist father, Dr. Benton Quest. He is also joined by his best friend and adopted brother, an Indian child called Hadji, their bodyguard, Race Bannon, and pet dog, Bandit. During the 1980s and 1990s, he was joined by the rock creature, Hardrock, and Race's daughter, Jessie, respectively.

Character description

On the surface, Jonny is an ordinary 11-year old with blonde hair, an honest face and fair skin. He is commonly seen with a black turtleneck sweater, blue jeans, and a pair of white sneakers. In the original series and The Real Adventures series, he has blue eyes, although they were colored dark in the 1980s season of the former series.

He is studious and a kind son to his father Dr. Quest, though he is shown to be very unenthusiastic and impatient in his schooling, especially homework. But deep inside his othewise average exterior, Jonny is incredibly brave for a child of his age. He is athletic, and has a proficiency in judo, scuba diving, and firearms. He is also resourceful, and is been able to take responsibilities with his homework, show respect to adults, and be honest to those around him.
