Heyyy, It's the King! is a series of animated segments as part of the CB Bears, produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for NBC's Saturday morning children's programming debuting. It ran in 1977, airing 13 episodes that spanned one season.

The segments aired separately for the second half hour of the CB Bears. During the half hour, it aired with segments Undercover Elephant and Shake, Rattle and Roll.

The King is a parody of the Fonz, played by Henry Winkler, from the live-action sitcom Happy Days. As it happens, three years later Hanna-Barbera got to do their own animated spin-off called The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang.

The entire series was possibly going to be planned for a DVD release at some point.[1] With WB's promotional art and a poll from 2012[2] being the only evidence supporting this claim.

Music

When Heyyy, It's the King! aired in half hour format with Undercover Elephant and Shake, Rattle and Roll, it featured it's very own theme song:

Opening theme song lyrics

Hey, Hey, Hey, it's the King!

He has a triple thread of humor and hi-jinx!

Starring the King, and his bunch of real cool characters!

And featuring that pachyderm of a thousand faces, Undercover Elephant!

Along with three goofy ghost in a series of harry scary fast moving adventures, it's Shake, Rattle and Roll!

Put them all together and it's a biggg daddy show! Hey, Hey, Hey it's the King!

Credits

These identical credits appeared at the end of every episode. Note that these credits have slight differences from the CB Bears credits.

Legacy

In 2021, King, Yuka Yuka, Big H, Clyde and Skids appear in the Jellystone! reboot, their probable role being in the episode "Cats Do Dance", in which they are depicted as a dancing group where they take Top Cat's alley, which causes Top Cat and his gang to move in with Peter Potamus temporarily. Big H and Skids are depicted as female in this series. The group is also more played off as being villainous (likely due to the lack of villainous groups Hanna-Barbera had), after this episode, the group has also made various cameos throughout the series.
