Behind the scenes

  • Fumbles design would later be reused by Hanna-Barbera in 1974 for a new character known as "Tackles"[1], Tackles would be used in the halftime interstitials of NBC's NFL telecasts and was voiced by Allan Melvin, in which, Tackles would explain the basics of football to younger viewers.
  • Early gag sketches show a darker side of Fumbles, depicting him doing either violent or inappropriate things.
