Denver Dell Pyle was an American film and television actor and director. He is best known for playing Uncle Jesse in The Dukes of Hazzard TV series on CBS from 1979 to 1985 when it ended. He reprised the role in cartoon form when Hanna-Barbera produced The Dukes spin-off during the parent show's run.
Pyle died on December 25, 1997 from lung cancer at the age of 77.
