Craig McCracken is an American animator, writer, and producer, who sold The Powerpuff Girls as a pilot to Hanna-Barbera in 1995, for the What a Cartoon! anthology, which was aired by the Cartoon Network who turned it into a series from 1998 to 2004, totaling six seasons. In 2022, it was announced that McCracken was working on a revival for Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.[1] McCracken also created Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends for Cartoon Network Studios, which also aired on Cartoon Network for six seasons, before moving to Disney XD to create Wonder Over Yonder, then Netflix for Kid Cosmic.

In 1995, McCracken was interviewed by Space Ghost in the Space Ghost Coast to Coast episode "President's Day Nightmare," with his What a Cartoon/Powerpuff Girls short winning against the shorts of other creators, including Van Partible, Genndy Tartakovsky, and Eugene Mattos.

For the 2002 DVD release of The Powerpuff Girls Movie, McCracken provided audio commentary.
