"Bird Girl of Guantanamole" is the fourth episode of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law season three, and the twenty-fourth overall. It aired on August 14, 2005 on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. It was written by series creators, Michael Ouweleen and Erik Richter, produced by Evan W. Adler, and directed by Richard Ferguson-Hull. The Hanna-Barbera series ridiculed in this episode is both Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole and Birdman itself.

Harvey represents Morocco Mole in a trial to be released from a prison camp in the Middle East, while Judy Ken Sebben comes on a little thick as Harvey's wannabe sidekick, Birdgirl.

Behind the scenes

  • The episode title is a cross between the film Birdman of Alcatraz and the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay.
  • Secret's trial happened in "Blackwatch Plaid."
  • This is the first appearance of the new incarnation of Birdgirl. Birdgirl didn't have a civilian identity in the original Birdman series.
  • Birdgirl's introduction turns the show into a parody of the live-action 1960s Batman TV series, which includes the Birdphone, Birdmobile, a secret button in a bust of Phil Ken Sebben to reveal the Birdpoles, Birdsignal, fights with the bad guys with colorful words to point it out like "Punch!" and "Pun!" along with reminiscent music, and the mirroring of Batgirl/Judy trying to keep her secret from father as did Batgirl/Barbara from Commissioner Gordon.
  • Following the previous episode where Harvey had a calendar with Victoria Principal's birthday marked for January 3rd (with a reminder on January 2nd), X now has the same calendar marking.
  • Judy and Phil's relationship is not based on the original Birdman cartoon.
  • Birdgirl's lawyer diploma is dated March 31, 1968.
  • When Reducto addresses Mr. Mole, Harvey's "mole" reappears from "SPF."
  • When Fred Flintstone pops up and says, "You're dead to me can opener," it is a recreation of what happened in "The Dabba Don".
