Other roles

Apart from MGM and Hanna-Barbera, Thompson was also a prominent voice actor for Disney's films. Several of his notable roles there include The White Rabbit and Dodo from Alice In Wonderland (1951); Mr. Smee in Peter Pan (1953); Jock, Bull and Joe from Lady and The Tramp (1956); King Hubert in Sleeping Beauty (1959); and Uncle Waldo in The Aristocats (1971), the last of whom was his final role before dying. He also portrayed Scrooge McDuck in the 1967 animated featurette, Scrooge McDuck and Money.

Voice acting aside, Bill also had a radio career dating back as further as the 1930s. He was prominently in the cast of the Fibber McGee and Molly radio series, where he voiced several characters such as Wallace Wimple; a timid birdwatcher with a mildly monotonous demeanor.
