Detailed summary

Memorable quotes

Narrator: The city of Townsville, and it's a beautiful day. But not as beautiful as it will be this Sunday. Because it's Father's Day.
Father bird: And, boy, I can't wait. These little guys are gonna hatch.
Narrator: Yes, everyone is excited and getting ready. Even Professor Utonium and the Powerpuff Girls.

Professor Utonium: Go on, No one's looking. Attagirl.
Narrator: Well, ladies and gentlemen, I guess there's a first time for everything. But with a new day, perhaps there's hope.

Narrator: Once again, the day is saved thanks to the Powerpuff Girls! Well, two of them at least.

Crew credits

Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: November 26, 1999 on Cartoon Network

Behind the scenes

  • The episode title is a play on the term "Very special episode."
  • Neither of the three girls could spell "Cookies" and "Popsicles" correctly, mistakingly spelling them as "Cookees" and "Popsikles."
  • Mojo's father lived from 1901-1998; 1998 is the year that the series began airing.

Errors

  • The family passes the same cigar store three times.
  • You can just about make out that the Mayor is reading from the Townsville Tribune in a close up (which is confirmed by Blossom reading it later on), but then when the camera pans out, the newspaper is generically titled "News."
  • Chief Hittledee, whose name is only revealed in the voice credits, last appeared in "Collect Her," looking quite different.
  • As close as they are as a family, when Blossom answers the phone, Professor Utonium actually says, "It's the Professor," instead of y'know something more familial like, "It's Dad." Don't you just love how close knit they are?
  • Mojo's father is somehow anthropomorphic when it was revealed previously in "Mr. Mojo's Rising," that Mojo only became that way himself because he was hit by Chemical X.
  • Blossom attacks her sisters even though she is in the wrong. Bravo, sisterhood.
