The American Broadcasting Company, better known as simply ABC, is an American commercial broadcast television network. It first launched as a radio network in 1943, and expanded itself to television in 1948, following in the footsteps of the already-established CBS and NBC networks. It was owned by American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres from 1953-1986, and then by Capital Cities/ABC through 1996. Since that year, the network is currently owned by the Walt Disney Company.
Throughout the mid-20th century, they have aired various programs from the Hanna-Barbera library; some of which also made their debut on the channel.
